If you are being treated for a mental health disorder,
it is imperative that you continue to take your medication as directed and
ensure that you can refill your medication. If you see a mental health
specialist on a regular basis, find out how to continue to receive their help
during the pandemic.
Stay in touch with your loved ones and know, who you
can turn to for help if your mental health worsens.
If you are being treated for an alcohol or drug use
disorder, be aware that the COVID-19 outbreak can foster feelings of fear,
anxiety, and isolation, which in turn can increase the risk of relapse, abuse
of substances, treatment abandonment or non-compliance with treatment
guidelines. Don´t stop taking prescribed medication, especially opioids such as
methadone or buprenorphine, and make sure you can get your medication
regularly. If you receive assistance from a psychologist or support group, find
out how to maintain that assistance during the pandemic.
If you are being treated for a video game or gambling
disorder, continue your treatment whenever possible. Consult your therapist or
healthcare professional about the best way to maintain treatment during home
